This Privacy Policy explains how Cwtch Cath collects and uses personal information when you browse the website, place an order or contact the business.
The ICO recommends that small-business privacy notices explain what data is collected, why it is used, the legal basis for using it, who it is shared with, how long it is retained and what rights customers have.

Information I May Collect
When you place an order or contact Cwtch Cath, information may include your name, email address, delivery and billing address, telephone number if provided, items ordered, correspondence with me and information needed to deal with returns or customer service.
The website platform may also process technical information such as browser/device information and cookies.
Payments
Payments are processed using third-party payment providers such as Stripe and/or PayPal through the Big Cartel shop.
Cwtch Cath does not need to store your full card number in order to fulfil your order. Big Cartel advises merchants to identify payment processors and other third-party services in their privacy notice.
Why I Use Your Information
Personal information may be used to process and fulfil your order, communicate with you about your purchase, arrange delivery, process returns/refunds, provide customer service, prevent fraud, maintain accounting/tax records and comply with legal obligations.
If I ever use your details for optional marketing, this will be based on the appropriate consent or other lawful basis, and you will be able to opt out.
Who Information May Be Shared With
Information is only shared where reasonably necessary to run the shop or fulfil your order.
This may include Big Cartel, payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal, Royal Mail, relevant fulfilment providers where applicable, and professional or government bodies where legally required.
I do not sell customer personal information to advertisers.
How Long Information Is Kept
Customer information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
As a self-employed business, relevant business records generally need to be kept for at least five years after the 31 January Self Assessment submission deadline for the relevant tax year.
Correspondence which does not need to be retained for legal or accounting reasons may be deleted sooner.
Your Rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability.
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your personal information is handled.
Other Service Providers
Cwtch Cath uses Big Cartel to host the online shop. Big Cartel and other service providers process some information under their own privacy policies.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where international transfers take place, the relevant data-protection safeguards apply.
This policy will be updated if the way Cwtch Cath collects or uses personal information changes.
