A colourful, slightly chaotic and completely one-of-a-kind Cwtch Cath reworked smock dress, made for people who want their autumn wardrobe to be cute, spooky and comfortable. 🧡
This piece started life as an Large “Creep It Real” ghost T-shirt, which I’ve transformed by adding a full gathered patchwork skirt made from a mixture of Halloween, autumnal, floral and black-and-white fabrics.
I’ve also added lots of the little details I love: multicoloured pom-pom trim around the neckline and sleeves, a felt flower detail and pumpkin embellishment, making it feel properly Cwtch Cath rather than just a T-shirt with a skirt attached.
The skirt is quite full and gathered, giving the dress that loose, floaty smock shape. It’s intentionally designed to be worn oversized rather than fitted.
Approximate fit: I’d describe this as around a UK 14–18, depending on how loose and oversized you like your clothes. If you’re towards the smaller end it will have a much baggier smock fit; towards the upper end it will sit a little closer while still being loose through the skirt.
Because this is a handmade/reworked one-off, it won’t have the factory-perfect finish of mass-produced clothing. Each of my smock dresses is slightly different as I learn, experiment and work with the fabrics and garments I already have, which is also part of what makes them unique. 💜
